Seems like all these cruise ships are playing musical chairs Mike. They are anchored of the Island and the West country, must be pouring money down the drain, kt

I have done three World Cruises on the Amsterdam, last one 12 months ago.A great ship. built around 1993, so she is getting on a bit at at 27 years old.
The Rotterdam is similar,. I have done two South Pacific Cruises on her.
Holland America has some new ones being built.
An excellent Company to sail with.

It's not so long ago that I read the entire fleet of Fred Olsens cruise ships were taking up temporary residence in the Firth of Forth at Rosyth. I very much doubt passengers will be rushing to book holidays aboard them in the near future.

Fouro, there a quite a number of cruise ships laid up around the UK. I believe seven anchored off of Weymouth, some Southampton, three in Glasgow.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, all Fred Olsen cruise ship departures are paused until 29th October 2020.
All their ocean going cruise ships are still in the Firth of Forth.

Quite a common practice for cruise companies to do this.
Older ships sole off to other companies, some leased back.
P&O Australia get all their ships this way.

The 'only' reason for causing Fred Olsen cruise liners being laid up temporary is the Coronavirus Pandemic and nothing else.

Fred Olsen's managing director Peter Deer has said: Moving our ships to Babcock's Rosyth facilities and having them alongside in port allows us to run a more efficient operation, including the general maintenance of the ships, crew changes and refuse collection.
It looks very much to me like the local bin men are going to be kept busy if they decide to go near the ships.

    Regards from
    Fouro.
