My Eldest son who has a NATO job. classified so I don't know why, needs the trains to get to the office on Monday and Tuesday but he will lose two days pay over this.
Not Hitting Cameron but him and fellow workers who do not have a Bank Holiday.
Also the Strikers will lose two days pay, The Union Delegates and Union Boss will still get their inflated salaries and expenses.

My post was to advise members of the public transport situation in Liverpool over the bank holiday if they intend visiting here to see the Queens and once again we end up with the rights and wrongs of unions.

That is the problem with the strike system, the union calls a strike to hurt the boss but in most cases it is the general public who bear the brunt of it. The union members loose money, the union bosses enjoy it al and loose no money so who wins, not he working man that the union claims it represents

Perhaps it may be an idea to have a dedicated thread *union bashing*, then everyone of the like mind could then boot their thoughts up and down the pitch to their hearts content, Just an idea KT

John what would be the point of going on strike if it's not going to inconvenience the general public,of course it's got to impact on them that's the way to get the employer to act.It is made out on here that people go on strike at the drop of a hat and enjoy it,nothing nice about being on strike and loosing wages. Those that scab it don't refuse the benefits gained by the strikers, they should do as they were quite happy with their lot that's why they didn't go on strike.

So that's okay then, let's just forget about the families who have saved for a year to enjoy a short break, now ruined, let's forget about the hundreds, if not thousands of disappointed children who wont have their holiday. 'Its all in a good cause for the common good' didn't Stalin say those last few words

It's amazing how the Railway Unions always arrange for a strike on Bank Holidays.
