Thanks for that Graham, not sure if we get those two down here but will keep an eye out for them. Funny thing is when we went on the first cruise last year her indoors was not one bit keen on the idea, I had to almost bludgeon her into going. Second night out she asks me why we never did this years ago. Now she is looking at all the cruise sites.

2004,2006,2007,2008, we flew to the Caribbean to join a cruise ship, we went to various places in the Caribbean crossed the Atlantic (the first trip we had a Force 10) then onto the Med visited places iin the Med twice flew home from Palma twice flew home from Heraklion, had a chuckle to myself walking down the gangway at places like Montego Bay and Naples which i had visited 50 odd years before as i thought what had been on my mind the last time i walked down the gangway here
The cruise lasted 22 days no formality no dressing for the Captains table, drinks? can of Newcastle £2-20 no dearer than most pubs, where ever you are in the world always looking for ex seamen the first cruise we met a ex seamen and have kept in touch since.
Had to laugh one trip i was on the prom deck leaning on the taffrail staring into space, this bloke came along side me and we got chatting he asked me Is this your first crossing?, I replied no this is my 40th time i have crossed the Atlantic, he must have thought i was spinning a yarn till i explained.
The ship Ocean Village no tipping i cannot see what right some of the cruise firms tell you how much you have to tip, i hope to do a trip this year if i do it will be back to the Ocean Village .

i think it is very mean of you lot to keep on about cruises. the only ones i have had are the woolwich ferry, the dartmouth upper and lower ferries and the saltash ferry. we are not all millionaires.
if i had the money i would go on a passenger cargo or tramp. at least i would enjoy it as a real cruise. cheers. alf

Well Alf, going for a tramp can be bad news. My mate went for one he saw in the town one night and came out worse off.
