Woman Overboard

I was in Vegas in July celebrating my Grandaughter's 21st with her Mother and elder sister. I felt we were the four slimiest
women in Vegas apart from the pool waitresses. So Lads for once I agree with all you say. Thank you for your interesting posts which sent me off to my dreams feeling really good about My figure at 77 years old; which is no where near the the size of the ones you describe in your posts. I could fit both my legs into one of theirs especially sitting on the buses over there. O.M.G they were very large Ladies.
I enjoyed Las Vegas it was a once in a lifetime experience, but give me Italy any day especially Sorrento.

Have not heard thta one before, but there were two other very odd events on the Windsor. On return to Southampton some work was being done on the hull when it was noticed a port hole to what appearde to be an empty cabin. It turned out that during fit out of the ship a cabin had been put in without a door. The event was actualy shown on TV at the time. The other event involved finding a body in a locker in one of the tourist wingers cabins. This was also while in Southampton during turn around. Police were called but nothing came of it.

Sorry about 'slip up' with spelling I did mean Slimmest, made me feel quite good
and glad I kept the pounds off (see my photo in gallery) still same as at 72 there
now 77, I lost 3 stone in 2007 after Ken died in 2005; haven't I done well LOL!! :cool:

Off thread slightly but its a scandinavian tradition to leave your shoes behind you on the deck if you jump overboard to commit suicide. It tells the ship that you have committed suicide and not to bother looking for a body.
Apparently same happened on one of my last companies ships about 8 yrs ago when the captain committed suicide, apparantly he was suffering depression plus some life threatning illness that he had not disclosed.

A very quaint custom John. I wonder how many actually take the trouble to do that. Personally if I was inclined to take my leave voluntarily I think I would choose something a little quicker. The thought of seeing the ship disappearing into the distance if you change your mind at the last second is truly horrifying.

Drowning is a horrible death, I have been near there.
Drink a few litres of whisky or Rum until total oblivian arrives. If you survive you can always have second thoughts.
