Having just watched the programme on the last days of the liners, it was interesting to note what the designer of QE2 had said*to build a ship that was capable of crossing the Atlantic through all weathers, cost 40% more than to build todays cruise liners*, which pretty much is my thinking when i see these huge block of flats sailing down the Solent, they just dont look seaworthy, but then i have no knowledge to back that up, just my thoughts KT

It was a good show tonight,
Plenty of good views of the old Queen Mary, Stayed on her many times including this year again,
James, who I know quite welll , the Tour Guide was talking a little strange tonight.
Well worth a visit of a few days if you get the chance,
I have sailed on QE2 many times and on QM2 twice.
I have met Stephen Payne the designer of Queen Mary 2, on the maiden voyage in 2004, he is a very interesting man.
It was also good to see a friend, Commodore Ron Warwick of QE2 and QM2,
Some good views of Canberra and the Edinburgh Castle.
A couple of those Liner experts looked and talked a little strange, they were supposed to be liner experts but seemed to be way off course.
But it was a very interesting show,.
    Cheers
    Brian
