Tommy Adderley jumped ship in Wellington sometime in the sixties. He became known as mr NZ rock'n roll. He had a night club in Auckland called Granpas which situated above another club of his called granmas. I knew him through my association in the hospitality industry. Originally from Birmingham,Tommy was buried at Schnapper rock cemetery, North shore Auckland with his favourite old cowboy boots on his coffin.

    Hi Ronnie

I wasn't aware that Tommy had passed on so young. I ofter wondered what happened to him.
I got to know him well in the 60's and used to frequent both of his clubs. I used to play the mouth organ for fun and Tommy taught me to play the Chromatic Harmonica. I thought I was Larry Adler!
I remember Tommy was fanatical about his boots and was always polishing them - Heaven help anybody who stepped on his toes!
You've brought back some memories of the old days in Auckland - was it really so long ago?
    All the best Ronnie.

    Taff
