Mourning
To all those on site who knew ….Manton Capps better known as Cappy passed away on the 21 September my own and others sorrow go out to his wife Pat and family on their very sad loss of an excellent husband , a good and loyal friend to many and a man true to his word. The world will be a lesser place without him, Sail on Cappy. JS

A very sad Post regarding cappy! He was as said one of the finest, always full of life and fun. He will truly be missed here, and although he had not posted for a long time was missed anyway!
A true Blue as we would call him here is Aussie. Rest now cappy and may you have calm winds to fill your sails and take you to those places you so loved!

Very sad news indeed, Cappy, god bless him, could always be relied on to say it how it was, no matter who you were or what was discussed, a stalwart of a man who rose from galley boy to factory owner by sheer hard work and being straight. Like most of us the MN was always in his blood and the MN gave us the courage to face anything.
Fair winds and full sails Cappy, our thoughts are with you on your voyage. This ship salutes you.

Just read this very sad news..Cappy was a great,solid entertaining character to we many and diverse ex seafaring characters on this ship.He is greatly missed already.
Sincere condolences to Pat and families,and to John Sabourn ,a good shipmate and friend of many years to Cappy.
