He was a good friend, we spent a lot of time together over the years,
so I saw his Birthday on today's list, and thought no one knew he had past.
    Cheers
    Brian

Thanks Brian he was a fine seaman and a very fine story writer too, I knew him well. A sad loss indeed, may he rest in peace.

Also we should always remember our mate Bob Fairly who was on PQ17 convoy.
I felt an Honour to have met him when he travelled across from Owen Sound Canada to Liverpool
I still Have a dvd which he left me about PQ17

    Hi Ron
I too remember Bob quite often and watch the DVD the Russians gave him. Lovely small man who was a Giant.

    Brian
I did contact his family before I went to Canada but they told me there was no Grave.or stone
So he must have been scattered at sea.
I did visit Owen sound last year and visited the two museums he spoke off.
I did meet him when he cam over and brought me some Tim Hortons doughnuts.
I used to talk with him everynight via skype
    Ron

    Hi Ron,
I had a good day out with him in Liverpool at the Club. He had a good funny humour,
it was not long before he died. I WAS PROUD TO HAVE KNOWN HIM.

Here is a photo of him between me and Ernie Higham.
    RIP BOB.

Funny as I regret missing that meet
I was to go and see him when I went that year to Canada and he was taking me to the ship simulator.
