    Default Such lovely words.

I have recently seen this poem for the first time to me on another site but it has impressed me so much that I feel I have to submit it and share it.

Alfred Lord Tennyson's Poem 'Crossing the Bar'

    Sunset and evening star,

And one clear call for me!

And may there be no moaning of the bar,

When I put out to sea,

But such a tide as moving seems asleep,

Too full for sound and foam,

When that which drew from out the boundless deep

    Turns again home.

    Twilight and evening bell,

    And after that the dark!

And may there be no sadness of farewell,

    When I embark;

For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place

The flood may bear me far,

I hope to see my Pilot face to face

When I have crost the bar.
When one door closes another one shuts, it must be the wind

Lord Tennyson is a famous Isle of Wight resident of the past Chris, his house was a hotel until recently, Farrinford House in Freshwater, incidentally, he bought Farringford House with the proceeds from one of his other famous poems, The charge of the light brigade, . I spent one Christmas at Farrinford Hotel, its a lovely old building with a 9 hole golf course in the grounds. Wish i could write poetry like that !!!!!, kt
