Lord Tennyson is a famous Isle of Wight resident of the past Chris, his house was a hotel until recently, Farrinford House in Freshwater, incidentally, he bought Farringford House with the proceeds from one of his other famous poems, The charge of the light brigade, . I spent one Christmas at Farrinford Hotel, its a lovely old building with a 9 hole golf course in the grounds. Wish i could write poetry like that !!!!!, kt
