    Hello Gulliver
Nice to see you back on board mate, been a little while now since we had you company here!
Hope that you are keeping well.
Yes indeed it was a shock and so sad to get that News of Lou,especially not long after we had met up and had such a wonderful time together here at out Home.
He had a lovely but sad Funeral and his Daughter sent me a copy of it too.
I had of course watched it live streaming on the day!

Such a nice person was Lou,with a gentle Heart at all times, but could be so very strong too.
Yes not many like that still around, and more the pity!

Take care and please don't be a hermit! LOL
    Cheers

We had a number of celebrations here in Oz to celebrate the end of WW2 and the surrender of the Japs. But whilst this was going on the leader of our feral opposition was speaking, like the union heavyweight he is, at a march demanding gay marriage.

What did persons like Lou fight for I now wonder when I see disrespect such as tis.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

I met Lou and one of his sons for an all too brief time, he was a very aware person and bright as a button. He was a typical seafarer of the old school, and although not I would imagine a studier of the Gospels and such would of agreed with some of the writings. He is probably still up there or wherever there is, still keeping an eye open. Think he would agree with parts of the Ecclesiastics... A time to be born, and a time to die, a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted. A time to kill and a time to heal, a time to break down, and a time to build up. A time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to win and a time to lose, a time to rend and a time to sew, a time to speak and a time to keep silent, a time to love and a time to hate, a time of war and a time of peace. These are only a few. Lou lived through them all and experienced a lot of what some of us never will. He was happy with life the way I saw him and lived a full and active and long life. He will always be someone to remember with affection, not for being something on the world stage, but an ordinary man who lived life and enjoyed the living of it through good and bad times. Regards John S
