Shocked and wordless that such a vibrant light should be extinguished far too early. Was a great guy and to talk to gave a meaning to life. Will be sorely missed by his family and all who knew him. Regards John W.S.

How very sad a dear old friend of the site,Rest in Peace Lou.One of a Kind always remembered.Special condolences to Lou's family and friends.
How privileged Margaret and I were to have enjoyed a day with Lou along with Roger and Pauline when Vernon and Irene were so kind hosting this gracious gentleman on his visit to the Blue Mountains. His passing is a great shock. Lou ended his days with a flourish travelling and meeting friends and family after "the love of my life" passed away. Our sincerest condolences to Brenda, the family and friends of of this dear man.

I hope that Brenda wont mind me posting this!
Lou will have his Funeral on Thursday the 4th June 2015 at 3PM.
I am looking at trying hard to go and attend the Funeral, however I have told Brenda that it may not be possible, and of course she said that it would be understood!
Brenda has also said that if I did make it,i would be picked up at the Airport ,given Accomodation and taken back after!
This is so very kind of her and the Family.and may I thank in advance the kind offer in case I can make it!
There are a few things to take into account though!

With Thanks.
I first met Lou in April this year when our Cruise ship was in Dunedin, my wife and I met Lou in the Octagon and we spent the whole day being shown around the town and some of the surrounding countryside. We met again just a couple of weeks ago in Auckland and we entertained him, finishing up at my house and chin wagged for a few hours before I took him home to his daughter's place ( Brenda ) He was an absolute gentleman ,a true salt of the earth. He will be sadly missed by many people. From memory I think he was 89 years of age. Regards Peter in NZ.
