Rest in peace Tony. A traveler to the very end. Tony had the guts at this time of life and health to take on a great adventure and we admire him for this courage that has rewarded him with a new life and family love. I will miss his red postings and thank Annie for being the centre of his adventure and wish her well.

Thank you Vernon, you're a real cobber.

So Sorry to hear of the news about Tony. We were often in touch by pm mainly because of a mutual interest in 1 - 1200 scale of model ships. Actually it was Tony who got me interested in the first place. I had also telephoned him a few times when he was living down in Southsea. I will miss him a great deal. What can one say? My sincere sympathy to all his family both here and in the Phillipines. Rest in Peace my friendSincere Regards

    To Tony,

Rest in peace Tony mate, you should be very proud of having been a member of an exclusive band of brothers, you were a British Merchant Seaman. I am so glad that you enjoyed the last years of your life in happiness and enjoyment and I admire you for making that big journey to a foreign land for a new start. I shall miss your postings and I hope that you can look down and see just how much you were admired and respected by all on this site. Fair winds, calm seas and safe sailing.

    Chris.

    To Tonys' Family,

My deepest condolences and my hope that you will be able to look back soon, without tears, on happy memories that Tony gave you.
    My very best regards,

    Chris.

thanks to all for your kind thoughts, I cannot add anything more. I only knew tony through the site although I spoke to him about Southend which I classed as a second home. I used to go there quite often. I know he was very happy with Annie and I hope she is ok. Sadly Missed

I too am shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Tony's passing;he did indeed feel like an old shipmate we have sailed with in our past.I feel also that Tony did find true happiness with his new family in the Phillippines.
Rest in peace dear friend. We will all meet again on Fiddler's Green.

And pledge to love and beauty.'

I am wondering if Annie and her children have survived the Typhoon or even their home.
I think she made Tony happy in his new life.
What a sad loss to her, would there be any way eventually to find out if she survived.?
    Cheers
    Brian.
