Hi Brian, Joined Beaverlake December 1960 done one trip paid off January 1961 spending Christmas in Quebec. Ship just managed to leave the ST. Lawrence before the ice set hard and froze us in for the rest of the winter. Seems like you must have joined before me.

Just how many ships did Everards have in their fleet also I was once told that if you new about motorbikes you could sign on as en engineer on one of their coasters?

Hi Ted, had a god time on the Superiority running between Methil in Scotland taking coal to Stettin in Poland with the odd stop over in Denmark.

Thank God for the Scottish AB. No Scotsmen on board when I was there.

Firstly Everards was a big outfit but as to there coasters, I don't think they ever operated anything over 2.000 Ton, Ivan would know more than me he was superintendent with them. The Superiority / Serenity / Where as most where single hatch jobs very few had a Bosun on deck both which I where in had 3 or 4 on deck with the mate overseeing things, Both trips I done Rob where up in the North sea Sweden, Norway, ETC... But the thing with them was they could pop up anywhere I saw a few sailing up and down the Medi, The one and only time I got to Cork was on the Serenity we sailed out of Preston light ship and took aboard a full cargo of quarry stone in Cork for the Continent. Happy days lads Terry.

p.s. This is a good site the Fred Allan collection of Everards as you can see not many carried over 2,000 Ton of cargo The Allen Collection|Everard Line
