I went to National sea training school in Tilbury, Gravesend from March 1965 until May 1965 it was an 8 week catering course.
Also 1967 Had a trip to Canada aboard the Manchester Liner.
My Last ship was the BP British Judge leaving the Merchant Navy in 1968 to get Married. Unfortunately I jumped ship in Rotterdam due to family problems at home, caused may I say by myself. 3 years in the Navy I will never forget
It was one hell of an experience.

Hi Barry.
Welcome to the site one of the best for serving and ex Merchant seamen, hope you enjoy and get to post about some of your experiences.
I see you went to Gravesend Sea School, a peanut, I went to the Vindicatrix in Sharpness, there is a web site for peanuts, but I don't know how active it is haven't visited it for some time. This site will keep you busy as there are many areas to dig through, scroll down until you get to the shipping companies you may find some all mates have posted on there.
