Richard Joyce.Hi Richard ! Was Ronald your Dad ? It's a long shot with the passage of time that anyone would know him on here, but try looking at the Helderline site, join and log in to maybe find someone who might have sailed on ,or is related ,like yourself , to anyone who has served on those two ships. Or make an appeal for info.If no joy,it is still an interesting site. I'll give you two links.NATICINA NORRISIA Best Regards Graham
Thank you for replying yes he was my father and as you say it will be difficult as he would of Been 96 this year . I am Just trying to piece together some ancestry. Dad did a 11 month stint looking at his faded payslips would they Dock in the uk to unload before going back to sea and when in Dock would family members be allowed to visit some answers to this would help me. I must admit I am the first in four generations never to of gone to sea in some ways I regret it Dad always said it was finished as Career so although i followed in his footsteps in the catering it was on dry land. Thank you for your time, Best wishes Richard.
Hi Ronald Yes indeed most all the Merchant Ships of that era and after Docked in the Uk Ports, depending on what Line etc. The Ships listed would i imagine have Docked in London, and yes Relatives were able to visit Crew, most Crew got Shore leave for some days dependng on if they were to sail again soon, or await another Ship. Hope this helps I am sure more will be said on this to assist you. Cheers
