    Hi Phil, Interested in your post and that you were on the Dover Sealink ferries at dates that I was although I don't recognise your name. I joined them after leaving deep-sea to get married and was Q.M. and Bosun before getting medical retirement in June 1990. I served on all of the Dover / Folkestone fleet during my time and wondered if you recalled me from your time. I was one of the very early H&S reps for the deck department and was known throughout the fleet as the "Legal Eagle" by other reps.

    I also have Tree boat, Fred Everards, And Sea link ferries out of Holyhead in my book, I think every deck hand aboard would agree Phil the best Skipper to sail with was the one that started of Deck Boy and worked his passage to the top. Regards Phil Terry.

    I thought that I had done well, Bell Boy ,assistant steward,greaser, motor man ,Dhu, AB ,cook. and deported from my own country (fact).
    But Captain you did well and hearty Congratulations to you. interesting people are the best.
