My father joined the Merchant Navy in 1958 at Newcastle, but served for only a short time (he died in 1965). I'm doing some family history research but cannot find out much about FTS Newcastle where he pre-trained. I know he sailed on the Queen Elizabeth, but I don't know when, nor what other ships he may have sailed on.
