James did you have a couple of brothers at sea? Looking at .our details again looks like you signed on the same day I signed off. So slipped up there sorry. I was at the Vindi
From 9/3/ 53 till , 15/5/53. First ship SS.Flamenco.P.S.N.C.The Gallagher I knew came from Liverpool 3 Brothers I Below two on deck. Cheers.
Hi James,
Thanks for the information. It was very interesting. I didn’t realise the ship was that old. It just proves that these old ships were built to last.
I haven’t been able to find the pic as I am not very familiar with the website.
Happy to hear from anyone else who might have served on the Daniel M.
Regards
Michael

James Gallagher ... I was on the Orion in Tilbury in July 1962 and a few of us went over to Gravesend one evening for a few pints ... apparently one of the local lads overheard one of our lads say something he took offence to and the locals followed us down the road and got stuck into us ... we almost gave as good as we got but it seems to me that they may have been part of the local boxing team
... thanks for the memory jog Jimmy :)
