    Hi Ian.
    Your discharge book No is close to mine R 510868 issued in June 1949, I joined one of Hain's the Trevose in Cardiff on July 49 as a deck boy, four trips over two years, the two apprentices were a bloke named Phelps and Peter second name I think Smith, we were running mostly down to Aus the best ship I was ever on same skipper all the way Capt D. I Spencer.
