Re: Looking for George Curry
I sailed with George in the later 70s. A nice bloke and was a senior 3rd eng. at the time.
You may be able to send a message via the Blue Star line web site although I don't know if he would have access to any electronic media and don't know where he lives or if married etc. I am fairly sure he was around a couple of years ago.
People have to be careful about giving out others details so don't be too hopeful.

Hi Gloria,
I sailed with a Chief Engineer called George Curry in a ship on the NZ/Australia Trade back about 2001/2002 ( either m.v. 'Sydney Express' or m.v.'Wellington Express') - I believe he may have been ex- Blue Star Line but not sure). I last saw him in 2005 when I bumped into him in Napier, New Zealand where I believe he was living at that time. There is also a George Curry (Marine Engineer) listed with the social networking website 'Linkedin NZ' which is a business and employment oriented service - if you register with them you should be able to access George's profile, maybe even email address. Good luck.

I have spent several hours looking at every web site I can find that will give me a phone number and I have come up empty.
Is there any way you can send me the number you saw in the phone book?
Thank you so much for your help!

I have tried Blue Star Line every couple of years and they have told me they have no records but I will give them another try in the morning.

Re: Looking for George Curry
Nothing definite hence, not adding till I know more.
Please do not get your hopes up on this to much.
But, if it works out could be his child / children's children.
Have the names of the parents but, need to find a connection
with George (+ Liz ?)
As this is a public forum, I will wait to see if I can find
anything more concrete.
Keith.

Gloria, as requested by you I have forwarded your e-mail to Tim, not sure if he will reply or not.
From what he told me he thought after marrying he may have moved north.
If you met him in 1971, that is about 47 years ago, even if only 25 then he would now be about 72.

Re: Looking for George Curry
Hello Gloria #33. Bit dicey giving a third party phone number here as the world and its granny could see it. If Doc reads this I ask that he give you, and only you, my email so you can reach me privately to get the number.
Best of luck.
Ken
