Another very sad loss
Today at 6.30pm i received a Phone call , which was very sad and upsetting to me.
It was none other than Margaret, Richard Quartermain's Wife. I could immediately hear in her Voice that all was not right.
Her announcement to me with broken Voice and i could see the Tears over the Phone, telling me of poor Richard's passing.
Well to say the least i too was in some sort of shock, and my Eyes started to water as well, as he was one of the very very nice Guys that i got to meet many Years ago now, and made good Friends .
Was only a few Weeks ago that we were speaking to each other on the Blower ,and Richard telling me that he was going in for a small Op, nothing to worry about he said.
Apparently after the Op he was OK for a short while, then he again had to be taken back to Hospital as his Breathing was very erratic, staying there for some two Weeks, after which time he succumbed to an attack and passed away.
I had asked Margaret if i could post this , which she said it would have been Richard's wish, as he was so fond of the site and had made good friends over the Internet.
A real Gentleman he was along with the Likes of Lou Barron, Alf Corbyn, Sid Young and a few others.
I will miss his Friendship, and i know many here will miss his Posts.
Always you will be in our Thoughts Richard, hope you have Gentle Winds to fill the sails of your Ship, and take you back to so many places you always so loved and remembered!
With a great Respect i bow my Head to you!
Sincerely Vernon

Re: Another very sad loss
Doc, a very sad loss indeed, as we exchanged many a PM, as everyone says a real gentleman, he will be sorely missed. I know you already will have, but pass on all our regards to Margaret and tell her we are thinking of her, Richard will not be forgotten
