Default Loss of my closest family member

I've recently lost my closest family member. She was an amazing world traveler who had been to around 80 countries on every continent and took me travelling with her all over the world since I was a baby so that I've been to 60 countries on every continent. A very adventurous person, very well educated, intelligent and adventurous with a great Aussie sense of humour. We are from Tasmania although we lived abroad most of my life. We were extremely close and I lost her completely unexpectedly since she was very healthy, so it's been a big shock.

I grew up hearing stories from her about my great-great-grandfather who was an admiral in the British navy, won medals for his bravery in wars, and owned several merchant ships which he sailed from England to Asia and Australia and sometimes captained as well. She and I both love the sea and the old clipper ships and adventure travel and she said adventure travel was in our blood because of him. She said he was "Sinbad". In fact, I did live in Salalah, Oman not long ago from whence "Sindibad" sailed his ships, and I've also been to Sur, Oman, where he came from. She and I sailed to different countries by ship as well and my father was born on a British naval ship.

She is happy in Heaven and some day I'll see her again. I hope she likes what she sees of me now with my medical studies and travels.

#1. Elizabeth you are no relation to Tony Legge from WA are you? I know him very well. There is another Legge in NZ who was I think an examiner for masters and mates, I don’t know him but his name cropped up when I was looking for Tony. There is no family relation there as far as I know with Tony, who would by my reckoning be about 74 today. Regards JS
