It has now been revelead he did not die from a head wound but from a hit to the neck. The main artery was compromised and he never regained conciousness.

The risk of this sort of injury occuring has been growing over the years, the atitude of oz cricketers is win at all costs. The bowling coaches are teaching the bowlers to bowl at the man rather than the stumps. I agree this was a terrible accident but the way they are being taught to bowl it was an accident waiting to happen.

Very good friend of ours is CEO of Western Australia cricket and she has raised concerns about the bowling methods no wused but to date it has fallen on deaf ears .

That is why I was saying previously, Why do they not bowl at the wickets, surely that is the name of the game, taking wickets , they now seem to aim for the man and take him out. That ball was at least three feet higher than the wicket and a good bowler should not have bounced it that way.
I have seen many a batsman ducking from a headshot and somehow it seems to be acceptable.
Is it just showmanship ?
If the Bowler cannot hit a wicket then get someone who can.

Lets hope it doesn't end up like Rugby league they have changed the rules that many times it hardly worth watching any more.You have accidents in most sports its the way of the games as there played the players know how to handle it, some time bad luck strikes you cant go changing rules all the time may as we will have no games at all.Even in a card game some times a punch is thrown and its on!
