The world has lost the greatest symbol of peace, pride and innate strength that a generation can ever know.

He fought iniquity and suffered for it, he forgave because he knew that one act prevented decades of death as people enacted revenge on their oppressors, he spoke to the world about racism and oppression and he affected us all.

His Long Walk To Freedom symbolised a century of international change and was the voice of reason in a world full of nations struggling to keep their colonies and their dominance of other people.

Take a second to light a candle in your mind for the man whose contribution to the last century cannot ever be overstated.

The Spirit of Nelson Mandela will live on. An inspirational man of courage who lived by example for us to follow. A lesson that bloodshed and war will not achieve much.
