Surely the 1st. badge is BLUE star line

I have no idea how to add the link but if you google House flags of U.S. Shipping Companies and click on the letter M that should do the trick. Cheers J.W.

My point being John, A lot of guys worked for both White Star and Marconi, Yet never went to sea in there lives. Speculation certainly but as I said it may not be seaman's badge. It could belong to someone who worked for either yet sat in an office all there working lives. Re Terry.

Found one JohnBut Materson is blue M, Moss is I would say the more likely with the badge being found on the banks of the Thames and Moss Tankers being registered in London.

Found this very similar to the badge in question, Although this one is Alfred Holt {Blue Funnel } it could well be a cap badge the plot thickens

Looks a little like the cap badge I designed for myself when promoted to Master with Mollers of London & Hong Kong, and had made in Hong Kong but that was lost in Darwin, blown away by cyclone Tracy.
