For what its worth it doesn't necessarily have to be a seaman's badge it could be anyone who worked for a company.
These two for instance 1st White Star.
2nd Marconi.

This was the one Terry the Chap looking for it also thought it was Merchant Navy
Early 1950s BOAC (British Overseas Airways Corp) Pilot Cap Badge
Although it had a Crown ??
That's exactly what I was thinking of Vern, The airline pilot badge you found, I think I will go and check out Mothercare security guards badge you never know !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I remember reading somewhere Arthur Askey started his working life with them as a bouncer on the door Hello Playmates. :LolLolLolLol: Re Terry.
I was also wondering if it could have been the badge of one of the many Pleasure Boat Companies that ply the Thames.
Its a real mystery alright Chris, But I thank Charles for posting it always good to have a little challenge aboard the site you could well be right, Then again it could have come from anywhere. The only thing I would ask Charles is if this thread disappears into the fog and he identify's the badge please keep us posted. There will be another riddle posted tomorrow or the next day and that's what tends to happen I have done every search I can think of and the only shipping company with those colours I could find was Moss Tankers, But I may be way of course also. Interesting thread I hope we can conclude the mystery Regards Chris Terry.
Agree Terry
Best way to avoid loosing track of this one is to Bookmark it Terry
Thats what i do with Threads that i want to look back on if i cannot find them
Cheers
I too have been looking since the Thread was posted and still cannot get any closer! Damn! Hate to loose!! LOL

There were 2 American shipping companies with a red M on a white background (According to the site of House Flags of U.S. Shipping Co.) Morgan Steamship Co. and the appropriately named Mystic Steamship Company.
