Do you recognise this insignia?
JMcCinsignia.jpg
I found this insignia among my grandfathers possessions and wondered if anyone recognises it.
Post-WW2 he was a captain, first with Atlantic Steam Navigation Company when Frank Bustard started ro-ro operations with a bunch of leased LSTs. He stayed with the ships when they were taken back into military service during the Suez crisis, then transferred to British India Line and the when they managed the Round Table class LSLs, and again stayed with the ships when they were absorbed by Royal Fleet Auxiliary.
He did have a brief attempt at a shore based job, commanding the Belfast Harbour Commissionaires ship, could that white cloud be a stylised Northern Ireland?
Any suggestions would be most appreciated, best regards from Stockholm, George

Hi George. Just a thought, the Cape Horners Association have a similar badge. It could be a variation.
