    Back in this tread were a few comments about a”Watch Cap”. I completely agree ! The only time i ever wore one was under my regulation Hard Hat worn in cold weather. Never saw one worn by a Merchant Mariner otherwise.
    Reminded me of a San Francisco TV Station Reporter trying to pass himself off as a Crew Member to sneak aboard ship at anchor in the SF Bay. He stuck out like a sore thumb — made a fuss about it and only made himself look more ridiculous. Wore a Watch Cap, Bandana around his neck and a US Navy Pea Jacket on ! Looked a right twit !
    Must say those Pea Jackets were great — far warmer than the UK Duffle Coat that were all the rage in the MN when they became available after the War.
