I remember one guy who used to make an 8 paneller with a button on the top, just like the longshore mans leather one.

None of the ships i was on could get any duck canvas, most bosuns too bloody tight with it, so as said before, the old work dungies, when reached the tropics and turned the legs into steaming braves, and the rest was the shorts. I always recall your best *go ashore dungies* were scrubbed with a scrubbing brush, and ready to hit the gangway, problem was going for the dinner break pint, and turning too afterwards, and got grease or paint on them, too idle to change them, kt

That guy must have been a bit tasty with the needle and thread Jim, would think the Bosun, if he was on deck, would have grabbed him for any canvas work to be done, kt
As a quick off topic, hope your treatment has gone well Jim, my lad now waiting for his operation date, kt

Hi Keith thanks for asking finished the treatment over a month ago I now have to wait until a couple of weeks into October before i can get results.Apparently cannot take a scan until everything settles down, when they are attacking the actual cancer cells the surrounding cells are also taking the hammer so it takes a while for the lungs to get back to normal. The treatment is unbelievable just like having a chest x-ray with no side affects. As a matter of interest Keith I was in hospital last week on another matter (prostate)I was waiting tobe picked up and I got talking to a chap who had the same problem as your son,he was treated by way of radiotherapy and he was back to have the camera down and a bi-opsy,all came out clear so a very happy chappy.
    Regards.

Yes John a cap, though I`m surprised at the number of affirmative answers to date [5/9/18] as I really did feel that the `steamin` revvie` was mainly made by `scousers`. Seems like my aged grey matter must be letting me down.

When I did a trip as a coal burning Fireman, I had to get a belt with a buckle at the back , not the front.
