Re: MN Poppy Badge
Hi Doc, I don't know if you'll remember this, but a short time ago I put in an AVATAR and you said it was a hard to see, well
that picture was something I found online. Yesterday we went to a pub that holds the plaque in the picture I now have a good
photo that my son took so I'm hoping to put it on soon, it is a hand carved wooden tribute plaque to the MV ORARI, hope to
tell you the full story soon. cheers JC

1. In the days when we were young we alas were not encouraged by our parents to ask our parents about their lives, 'as children should be seen and not heard' was the prevailing attitude. When we were older and in a position to ask them, we did not, as most had experienced unpleasant periods during the war and we, out of respect did not want to awaken those painful memories.
2. I have also recorded my earlier life.
3. In respect of #2 I lodged a copy of my musings (110,000 words) with Hull University, even if my family don't read it, someone has, as I have just read a chapter of a recently published book which clearly is plagarised from my book lodged with Hull University, I am in the course of investigating how!

The thing is Brian we are all open and honest on this site and relay our experiences to each other without a thought of purloining them for our own use, and most of us have used thousands of words on here and never seen them used elsewhere (until now), alas some have less scruples. Yes many have had similar experiences but word for word sentences raise the eye brows

Re: MN Poppy Badge
one wishing to purchase a M.N. poppy badge I would highly recommend they have a look at poppypins.co.uk I have purchased several M.N. poppy badges from this gentleman who I think is a small business but is licensed by RBL. and as such his contract means that a portion of his profits goes to RBL. he is also licensed by the MoD. and this means that he can reproduce badges of all the forces. A website well worth a look
