MN Poppy Badge
I know some of you were interested in Poppy badges last year but they were all sold, I bought this one on eBay
"see Avatar" and they still have them at the moment it is a little bit smaller than the the Legion poppy, just thought I'd tell you.
PS, I don't wear them, I collect them, the ones I wear are from the poppy sellers. Cheers JC

Re: MN Poppy Badge
Hi Johnf,
Ordered mine the other day for that price.
Also ordered one for an old WW2 Royal Marine, and another one for the widow of an old school pal.
Hope to give them both a nice surprise.

Re: MN Poppy Badge
Hi Den, glad you were able to get what you wanted as I'm sure they will sell out as remembrance day approaches, I was
very pleased with my one although when it comes to November I always buy and wear the British Legion poppy as I always
have, the poppy badges are nice to look at and they do recognize different regiments and services but for me the Legion
poppy is a universal remembrance symbol that is for everybody. That is a great idea to give your friends a surprise gift
of the badges, good on you Den sadly not many people think like today, hope the weather is improving for you, it's been
a lovely couple of days here "long may it last", all the best. JC

Re: MN Poppy Badge
Hi JC, like you i will still be buying the local poppy's,
Just nice to have one that lasts throughout the year.
I will wear it at our monthly meetings of the RCNA.
The Marine war vet was on the D day landings at age eighteen. Also served in Burma.
Came to Canada and joined the Navy.
Great man to have a yarn with.
My other friend lost her husband just a year ago.

That would be an ideal time to wear it Den, I can believe that you have some very interesting conversations with the old boy,
I will always wish I had spoken in more depth with my dad and grandad, people are a mine of information, all the best. JC

Re: MN Poppy Badge
Thanks JC,
I think we all have those regrets. Guess its when we get older that we start taking an interest in the past.
We see that on a regular basis on this site.
Sadly many of us have waited too long to ask parents etc.
Personally, I have written down a lot of my life on a disk.
Haven't told the family.
Some day they will find it.
They may be interested or not. Their choice.

Re: MN Poppy Badge
Can't believe they won't be interested in your life Den, sometimes what we see about our own lives might seem humdrum
to ourselves whereas other people find it very interesting, I have been surprised by that several times when I've been asked
to say more, "especially over a pint or three" , cheers JC
