Hi Christine I am not sure I know him, long time ago I guess, I was on the France a few times in the 50s and a after the Strike in 1960, the Scotland in 1955, in the 50s England and Britain in the early 60s.
I remember the Reina del Pacifico running aground, big news at the time, the Bosun there was Lah Murphy and the Captain was Captain Whitehouse.
Guaranteed a Bad Discharge on that one. The POOL always emptied when she wanted a crew.
    Cheers
    Brian

Hi, long shot but Willy McCall was my Dad, passed away in 2005. Made it to chief and still have his jacket. Would be lovely to talk to anyone about those times. John
