Doing this reply on kindle, haven't come to grips with I phone. My friend did the pictures yesterday. If you can choose anything of interest to write from what I can remember ,could be mis - remembered

These pictures could have been taken on the England on reflection my dad John Booth worked for CPR shore gang, but would do the cruise in December when the lay ups were on. Later he went to the Canada he went away all the time then 17 day turnaround.
Think these pictures were taken 50 or so years ago. For some reason think these lads were Scottish.
My brother Tommy Booth was also on the Canada for a while. He was still a seaman up to the time of his death.

I lived in Seaforth home from home for my dad and the Caradoc of course.

Just pick out anything you think may fit I don't want to be telling these man what I don't remember properly, just thought the pictures just make me more aware of what Liverpool had to offer as a port. Let's hope the liners were successful.

Hope this is of some interest. Thanks for listening. The only names I remember in passing was martin Quinn fee others wasn't t interest I was a teenager. Remember the strike. Anne Marshall

Further to the photos I sent you, they could have been taken around 1965/66
As my dad appears to be on deck he ended up in the Pig? as he was around 60 my brother Tommy was also on board as I said before. As far as I remember after that he thought he got the boat ship going to the FAlklands couldn't believe it when he came out of pool he had got the Irish boats. Sadly he died not long after. Don't know if this is of any interest.

I have photos (copies) of my dad on board the Canada with New York in the background. Probably on one of her last trips. Late 60's I think. My dad and and brother were on the Canada previously my other brother was on the England. The name was Booth. Not very good on computer but if this message reaches anyone who is interested

Hi Anne, I to am from Seaforth. I also sailed on the Canada around the time you mention, If you click on my name red lead ted, And send me a quick email i will reply i am sure there are people and pics of Seaforth people we both know, I lived a few doors away the time you mention from the C.P.R. Shore gang Charge hand, And i have a few pics that would be of interest to you. Probably people you remember and not all Seaman. Regards Terry. p.s. at the time we lived on Rawson Road.

The fact that they were Scottish makes me think it could be the Empress Of Britain.I joined her in July 62 and she was full of Jocks the reason being the Britain was at the stage and some dispute broke out "a meeting in the morning boys" when all hands got down to the Pier Head there was the Britain heading for Greenock where they took on a full Scotch crowd more or less.Guys who weren't involved and wouldn't've got involved thought that they would have an extra night at home missed her.

Jim, You have just reminded me of a post i wanted to answer last week , Cant find it ? Someone asked why Canadian Pacific was known by some as C.P.R. The companies correct name was as you probably no was........................ Canadian Pacific Railway Company. Hence C.P.R. The Canada Anne mentions around 1966 surly would have been the one i was in launched in 1961. The last cruise ship of the long list of the fleet Regards Terry.

I sailed on the Emp of SCOTLAND, FRANCE, ENGLAND AND BRITAIN. Also sailed with MartIn Quin a few times.
it was also known as Canadian Pacific Steamships as the ships were steam driven.

There was a bosun on the C.P. container ships called Quinn, think it could have been the same guy as he was an ex Empress bosun. Sailed with him once in the early 70's.

He would be around 50 if I recall correctly, most likely not the same guy but Quinn is a familiar surname, probably loads of them at sea.
