Default About the SS Dwarka departure/arrival dates in 1979/80 on the Karachi-Bombay route

    Hi there,

I am looking for the departure dates of the SS Dwarka (cargo passenger operating from Dubai to Bombay via Karachi) from Karachi (or the arrival dates in Bombay) around 1979/1980.

Would you have this info saved somewhere, or do you know where I could get it ?

    Cheers to you all,

    Michael

    Hi Michael,
I've been looking for dates of ports I went to on the various ships I was on. The place is the Guild Hall Library, London. If you send the name of the ship and the dates you want they should have it. However, I think that the dates you want information for means that you will have to go to London. I've got 3 ships after 1975 which I want the information for and the lovely lass who sent me the information for my previous ships said I would have to book up and go to see the information. It helps if you have the information as to where it's stored. If you email them they are very helpful and will give you what you need to find out what you require.
I'm going to have to book a hotel sometime so that I can get there in the morning and have all day.
    Best of luck.
    Geoff.

1977 deck passengers part replaced by 445 xbunked.
    1979 52 x cabin, 534 x bunked and 533 x deck.

1973 transferred to P & O, 1975 reverted to BI, 1982 scrapped at Gadani Beach
    Dwarka Typical voyages:

Bombay, Karachi, Dubai, Bahrain, Kuwait, Khorramshahr, Basra.
Return voyages: Basra, Kuwait, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, Muscat, Gwadur, Karachi, Bombay.

[ Extra Info]The original trade, however, focused on the Bombay to Basra axis and this was continued until the late sixties when port congestion along the Tigris-Euphrates halted British India services at Kuwait. The main ports of call continued to be Kuwait, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, Muscat and Karachi with several smaller ports called at sporadically.
