The bell is inscribed with the crew names and was handed to Dennis as a thank you.
Does this mean anything to you ! I would be interested to know the story.
Hi,
I don't know if you are still interested in this but I think this probably refers to the Andros Patria (see Ships and Harbours Photos - ANDROS PATRIA - VLCC crude oil tanker) which suffered an explosion in 1978. The Promise and the Dragoon were involved in operations to salvage the cargo and minimise the pollution.

I also still have the confined booklet that was given to the crew. As the Royal Yacht passed she sent a signal " Please show more Respect" as a VLCC with a small crew who were on deck more crew were thought to be on there but hiding...

Re: Wanted BP Photos
My time with BP , British Skill twice 10 yers part., British Adventure, British Endevour stood by building & delivery, British Trader LNG, British Mrerchant did the delivery and first cargo, like it that much kept going back for nearly 5 yearswas asked to transfer to another LNG carrier after I filled in the C/Eng, British Innovator 3 trips with an Indian mate was enough for anyone, went to China for BP for 18 months surpervising construction of 3 Chinese/ BP LNG carriers horrible time on these ships a total dissaster from a build quality point of view and chinese trainees arrogant twits.
