    Default British Signal 1969

Hi everybody... I was a crew member on board The British signal in 1969 when she nearly sank of the coast of Africa. Her engine room flooded from a leaking stern gland. Anybody else recall?

    Thank you,
    James

I joined her just after that in dry dock on the Tyne as 3/E. in June 1969 She was one of a class of ship that most engineers didn't like A bit of a challenge. I was only on board for 2 months having transferred from the Ensign also in dry dock in the Tyne. It was promotion to 3/E so I was happy. I left her to go home to sit my 2nd eng ticket.
