British Admiral ITN News clips
I was searching Google for info on the BP Tankers I served on, and came across "ITN Reports" An archive site I assume.
In it are three clips, each about 2 min's long showing the launching by the Queen of the ship. For some reason I can't copy and paste the link or erl.
Quite interesting, especially the optimism of some of the shipyard workers, and their attitude to the up coming Japanese ship building industry.

Richard,
A link to these clips would be most helpful.

Re: British Admiral ITN News clips
IF I can find the site again, I'll write out the address as hard copy, then post that. I tried copying the video's using Real Player, but that didn't work either.

Re: British Admiral ITN News clips
This link is to the Youtube site which has several clips of the launch, and others as well I expect. I can't find the one on the ITN site.
If the link doesn't work, just type in "British Admiral Launch" into Youtube, and scroll up/down.

Good one that Dick,
My Grandad worked in that shipyard in Barrow, he died age 36 and Grandma had to work in the same yard, Vickers. no benefits for widows with children in those days.

Re: British Admiral ITN News clips
Hi Richard.
Very good video, brought back memories. One thing I noticed the Skill didn't have the shield on her funnel. From 51 to 55 all the BTC tankers I was on as I said, had the shield on the funnel.
Cheers Des
