Hi Rod,

I sailed with you on the KIWI I was galley boy Mel Marsden was cook, Warren Barwick was his back to back. Ray Kennedy was second cook and another guy John Moore I think. Geoge Shields was Bosun, Jake McClimber (I think) 2nd steward, I can still recall plenty faces off her but not that many names. . We did South Shields dry dock. I still have some good memories of that. I didn't stick around on her long. Still remember the look of astonishment on the catering super's face in dry dock when I turned the Iolair down coz I wanted to go back deep sea. Sailed with Warren again twice as 2nd cook, we ended up good mates but lost touch long ago. I also sailed with Gerry Glover on the Dragoon in 1981 first trip. I finally left BP and went into the North Sea in 1987 dive and supply work. Been working ashore now since 1994 as a technician.

Are we still short of members,because i had the best years of my life at sea,and contacts are not good are we well enough advertised. ..Agreat site .all exmerchant seamen should be on it TThanks Rod for across the sea

Hi rod didnt sail with you but did do ch ck course with you in wales had few goodnights out there some times miss those days but time goes by to fast as it happens

chris had some real good times in swansea, college was a doddle, we havent seen each other since but now married two children, one 21 and one 18, now a grandad

hi rod yer were good times married divorced got daughter of 22 back with her mum who would have thought grandad to from step son little boy sure ages you dont it miss the bp days all the runs ashore etc ha well life gose on hope to hear from you again all the best Chris

Hello Rod I was on the Humber same time as you not a bad ship but a boring trip if I remember.

what did you do on the ship trying to put a face to a name after 35years is hard when your in your late 30s
