Hi John, I was 2nd cook/baker on the Sara in 58. Did you ever find that bottle of rum I stashed away in the galley?
If so, you owe me one.
Nice single berth cabin as well mate.

Fully intended to stay on her, got coned to do my A/Bs ticket by the pool, and rejoin her a week later, the sailing date was brought forward and I missed out.
Now now John, Would I do that? You must be mistaking me for someone else!
Hi Barry,
Greetings from North Carolina,
Wonder if you remember Pete Lindstrom, Captains Tigger, I did the maiden voyage on the Nicolas... and as you may remember, the trips to Africa and Australia.
My Best wishes to you,
Pete

My father (recently deceased) was on the Bowater Ships according to his log book:
NICOLAS BOWATER LONDON ON 187806 - JULY 64 - DEC 64 (newfoundland?)
NICOLAS BOWATER LONDON ON 187806 - dec 64 - feb 65 (New york?)
NICOLAS BOWATER LONDON ON 187806 - march 65 (cornerbrook?)
SS SARAH BOWATER ON 186287 - MARCH 65-APRIL65 (ellesmere port?)
His name was Ronald Richard Corbett - He was a Catering Boy for most and on the SS Sarah - a deck boy.
Can any one regale me with any stories of life on board for a cat boy/deck boy and what he might have seen/done? Any photos of these ships or even better - someone who might recall him? (you cant forget a name like Ronnie Corbett!!)
Thanks in advance, Shelley

Any Deck boys from SS Sarah Bowater 1965 Newfoundland to Ellesmere port?
My father is listed as Deck boy during this passage - Ronald Richard Corbett.
Be lovely to hear from anyone who might recall him as hes sadly passed the bar recently so just doing some research :)
Any stories of life on board for a Deck boy or photos would be fun to hear/see.
May be of interest to you Shelly ?
Cheers
