    Default Harry Cater

I am looking for information on Harry Cator. I believe a Commodore of the Blue Star Line in the late 1940's.
He was probably a Captain with the Clan Line in the late 1930's.
He was probably originally from Teeside or Tyneside
    Thanks

    Hello and welcome Andrew,

Harry Cater b. 22.7.1888 at Kingskerswell. Devon. Dis. A number 478409. Certificate of Competency number 005303.
He has 1 x CR 10 with photo, 1 CR1 and 1 x CR2 cards held in the Central Index Register (Fourth Register of Seamen). Originals held at Southampton City Archives with copes on pay site FMP and on microfiche at TNA Kew

As well as the information shown on the bandcstaffregister.com page, I can confirm that H. Carter appears to have served as follows – this list will be incomplete.
You should also obtain his form CRS 10 - service record, 1941 until leaving the service. It should be held at Kew in piece BT 382/293
He should also have records in Lloyd's Captains Register held at the London Metropolitan Archives. His pre-1927 Apprentice record and Masters/Mates tickets should be held on the Ancestry site.

His WW2 medal file is held at Kew in piece BT 395/1/15568 ****note the discharge number on this record is incorrect***
I can’t find a surviving WW1 medal file for him.

    Regards
    Hugh

They are there, just search for him. I would post them here but as they are from a paysite I am reluctant due to possible copyright infringement. Andrew can pm me with his email and happy to send them on if he wishes.

    I missed another CR2 card
