Was it you that was responsible for the fire on the Paraguay Star.
I was on the Uruguay in 1964 if that is any help!!!!!!
Done a lot of them in the royal docks before joining the ship never had a stamp in book for them, also stayed on after crowd paid off ,and was just on wages no discharge for the days done as workbye ,and i have just checked my book, i was AB at the time regards Bob c
The ship i was on in 1962 was the Argentina star.
This has been confirmed by someone on the ships nostalgia site
who was to sail on her at that time.she left london for rotterdam
and back to london, for some reason i did not sail on her, perhaps
she was too big.
Great ship, although I only did half a trip on her in 61.
VNC in Santos!!
Den.
Got to ask Den was the voluntary VNC or was it due to the absence of rum in the Tab Nabs LOL. All I know is that they where work horses on deck with so many sticks and short turnarounds.
Les,It was due in a large part to the demon rum. Also a dusky maiden was involved.
Turned into a bar fight.
Got back to the dock to see the ship leaving the harbour.
My excuse to the Consul was that I had been shopping for a gift for my sainted mother.
Yeah right, with a torn shirt and a black eye!!
Don't know how the crew managed homeward bound without my Tab Nabs.
Den.
