    To the untrained eye, a Discharge Book,
    Was just dates, names, rubber stamps,
    But the seeasoned, experienced, seafarer,
    Saw cargo boats, tankers, and tramps.
    A seaman, in those halcyon days,
    Had a depth of travel, so fine,
    All he needed, was a medical,
    Union dues paid........then sign !!!
    Britain had a massive fleet,
    Unrivalled, for such a small nation,
    With cargo arriving, around the ckock,
    From every far flung, destination.

  2. The old Pub

    Well this was sad News i got from John in Oz about the god old Juniper Berry in Southampton.
    Seems that it is now all Planked up, and not trading any longer!
    What a great loss for Southampton, after so many Years of Trading, and having a place that many of old Sea Dogs could go for a good Pint.
    Had many good (and bad ) Days there, but mostly good!
    Myself and Mike Hall, made Flags with all the Members Names some time ago, and i took them with me to the Pub, they were gratefully ...
  3. True Accounts of parts of one's Life

    Hi ALL
    I am starting this Blog to see if we can get this Blogging well underway
    The Title says it all, so hopefully we all can add a little to this Blog.
    Please keep it True and clean, but of course you can add little things to spice it up a bit if you like, without going overboard! LOL

    I will a wee bit later start this off, by adding a snippet of part of my life, hope it will be of interest to some.
