Bibby Line
Bibby Line issued a press release on 10th June stating that they are increasing their fleet again with a new orderfor a Supramax Bulk Carrier, sister ship to Shropshire, same dwt 57,000. They say their business is planning further aquisitions of newbuildings or second hand ships as it look to expand their capacity. They have a £ 1 bn turnover, and are now ready to use their cash reserves to expand the fleet further. Bibby Line are the oldest privately owned shipowner in the world. It seems a great pity that some of the other great shipping companies which have now disappeared did not go down the same route as Bibbys. I for one am proud to have sailed for them
