    Default Bibby Line..... NewVessel

Always nice to see an old British shipowning company enduring, even if it's not just ships anymore.Bibby Line are well diversified, which was the key to their survival,I suppose.
This ship is the seventh ship with the name Shropshire.(One of my ships I sailed in was the 4th.built in 1959.)

It's still nice to see the salmon-pink funnel(albeit of a modern design),and Liverpool would have been nicer on the stern instead of Valletta! And how about that IMO Number?......

    Hi Gulliver
Nice looking Bulker, but isnt it a pity that now most Ships are Built outside the UK,a great pity i feel that once was the greatest Shipbuilding place in the World!

    Hi Davey,
Bibbys took delivery of the new Shropshire back in August 2009, agree though, it is good to hear of a British Shipping Company taking delivery of a new ship. Vernon the are many reasons why ships are not built in this country anymore, the main reason I would not like to mention on this site but would be quite prepared to send you a private PM.
    Regards,
    John C.
