Well Para, welcome, that is an original idea to run away to land. Know it was hard for many of us to do and I sometimes wonder what we would all be doing now had we stayed at sea?
    Happy daze John in Oz.

    Smile Para Handy

No objections to these non de plumes but it would be nice for us all to sign off with our real names.
Para Handy did you come across someone by the name of Dave Vincent while with the Bank Line.
    best wishes,

    Hi John A,
Yes like you i also think it may be nice to know the first name at least at end of message (not at all against nom de plumes as i use one too) but i have of late been using my real name to sign off with, just makes it a bit more personal in replying! Just my thoughts!
The Majority here i must admit are doing just that! (using their real name that is)
    Cheers

    Default Nom de Plume

I have no problems in revealing my name, Donald McGhee, having contributed several threads over the last two years or so as myself so to speak. I wanted a new start after all the nonsense that went on, but was not making any attempt to "hide" and know that the majority of the contributors are comfortable with this, a personal thing, but "Para Handy" I will remain, as he is my hero. I recommend the book by Neil Munro to those of you who have an interest in the West Coast of Scotland coasting trade. Hilarious.
I have been so busy lately I have'nt had much opportunity to visit the site, good to see it still going strong, great job Brian.
All the best to you all.

    Hi All.
I have just joined this site. My name is David Chambers, from Belfast, Northern Ireland. I served on the Weirbank as junior electrician in 1964/65, and the Laganbank as senior in 1967.
Although I had planned on emigrating to Australia it never happened, and I am still here in N.I., although now I live in Newtownards, Co. Down.

    Regards to all,

    David
