Yes Des
I really dont know what ever happened with Capt Kong! I know that he was not too well, and had all those problems, but he did Post a few short messages in the past, then all of a sudden all went rather deadly quiet!
I had also sent him 2 Emails to his address which i still have, but i never did get any replies??
It is rather odd , as even with his ailments he always seemed to at least let us know what was happening
I may give it another go with his Email and see what happens!
I do hope that nothing drastic has happened!
Cheers

re: missing shipmate and Capt Kong
Well had sent an Email to the Capt, but as yet no word back, may of course be a wee bit too early for a reply, lets hope that is the case
In desperation (and nothing meant by it) i took the liberty of just in case looking up the Notices in the Bolton News, but thankfully there was no name as such listed, this was a relief to me !
If i d not get a reply by the Week End, the next thing is to try and Buzz him on the Phone, but there again i dont know if his Number is still the same, but worth a try i guess!
So i will leave this now till say Monday the 3rd and then report back here, hopefully with some good News!
Take Care all
Cheers

Hi Vernon.
As with many on site they are conversant with a computer but unfortunate their wife's like mine are not, so unless they have made a provision for reporting anything all is lost.

re: missing shipmate and Capt Kong
Well as of now i still have not heard a thing from Capt Kong, and find this very unusual, and a trife worrying as he has in the past always at least let us know one way or the other!
I had tried to Phone him, but seems that there is something wrong, as i cannot get the Number to work!
I wonder if there is anyone here that lives in the UK that may be able to try his Phone??
Just so as we may know whats happened!
So i have tried my best without Luck!
Cheers

re: missing shipmate and Capt Kong
Well just an update on our Capt Kong!
And before anything a Huge Thank You , to James for his thoughtful actions on this!
As i have heard from James, he tells me that he managed to Phone Capt Kong, and spoke with Brians Wife Anne, who was happy to hear from someone here!
Now although and thank the Lord , Capt is still with us, he is still not all that good, and now apparently quite bad Eyesight in his Eyes, so unable to write much at all i hear>
This is not good news , as said before he was always such an active Man, even the times we met up, he was still that strapping Man . May be not as good as the Young days but still a fine figure!
So James also spoke with Capt, and as said that is his reoprt.
I and i am sure many here will be pleased at least to hear that Capt is OK , as far as things go , but will need a lot of care i guess in the coming Years!
A great pity and shame fot a Man for whom i always admired!
I am again going to try and see if i may be able to contact him, as well as the last time i failed , but as they say Try try and try again! LOL
So all y best wishes to Capt and hs dear Wife, i hope that at least they can grow old gracefully together , as many of us , and have a peaceful and Happy time that is left for them both!
Not being Morbid, just that we all have to at some stage Drop the Anchor!!
Alway thinking of you Capt, in case you read this Mate.
Best Wishes to you and Anne!
All the best
Vernon

Hi Vernon.
Glad to her that Capt Kong is still with us, and pleased that his wife was glad that someone got in touch, good thinking on your part Vernon, sight is something we all take for granted but I know from experience how important it can be.
