Although that sounds good John in Oz
I have to say that i dont agree with that at all, as imagine that without restrictions and Tests how some may Drive! Its always the safety of others that one has to consider!
Its the old thing here in Aussie, one Rule for each State! Absolutely Crazy!!

#21 I am probably the youngest amongst the seniors on the forum. After several blackouts and various trips to the hospital . I decided not to renew my licence when it fell due in March. I could not live with myself if I hit a load of school children waiting at a bus stop or hit anyone.
My wife does the driving now and I have my bus pass.
Had to smile when I spoke to Brian earlier this week. He was telling me his woes healthwise. I mentioned a few of my problems , he asked me what age I was , going on 76 , cheeky bugger says I am only a pup lol. Think he said he will be 89 this year.
Glad you got in touch with him as I know talking to him it will have meant a lot.

Thanks again James and yes it was such a pleasure talking to the Capt again, even though it was not the best of Lines or News. Sadly!
But he is a real good Guy and i feel so sorry for him, as i know just how active he was over most all of his 89 Years!

    Cheers

What annoys me is though my eyes obviously are not the best I can see well enough to drive, If I could not there is no way I would do so as I have my wife's safety to think of. There are some awful drivers here in the Country. My daughter said there are more unlicensed drivers than licensed in Cooma, plus 64 years of driving without getting a ticket counts for nothing, a well still got a month.

    Hi Vernon.
John's post20# shows how wrong some of Australia,s laws are, driving around Aus one could have their license taken off them in N.S.W but they could continue to drive in Victoria, and then be jailed for flaunting the law in west Aus,and shot in the Northern Territory, probably hang you in Queensland where they are not civilized yet.
Ps forgot Tassie, but then everybody does.

The stupidity of road rules here in Oz is that they differ so much from state to state.
In NT some parts have no speed restrictions.

From what I know NSW has some of the toughest rules, while here in Victoria I sometimes think there are none.

Many years ago, Jones the formula one racing driver said Victorian drivers were the worst he had seen any where.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Life is too short to blend in.
