Des when you go for a haircut and they ask what number do you want. I can’t remember what they mean , so tend to just say short back and sides . The number of barbers who today know what this means is getting less and less. I always tend to snigger when someone asks for a number 2 , and try to get it into the conversation on what number 2 originally meant , if ladies present I would of course be very discretionary and call it Tish. Of course also originally if no females the asking is just a plain short backsides ,which many people have called me in the first place. Cheers JS.

I too had a note from Victoria, hope all goes well for her, she has a lot on her plate just now.

Hairdressers or barbers which ever you wish to call them now have a plethora of style on offer.

No longer short back and sides, now you can have such styles as, 'skin fade, face trim, beard sections, half trim' and a dozen or so others.

Me, every Saturday morning needed or not I get a head shave, her indoors is very good at it with the electric trimmers.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Here in Cooma we only have one men's barber, he doesn't do women's hair, cuts it as you want it, short back or fancy, but he told me he prefers the old styles, only $15.

Here in Melbourne you will never find another place with so many hairdressers or nail shops.

Our small town of about 40,000 has no less than 26 hairdressers, none of which I use and 23 nail shops, don't use them either, prefer to do my own.
