well can remember empire day and the day off ....the series was very much a true picture of shields and the area in the 50s.....strikes never got out but hungry bairns .....and men going to prison for stealing a bleddy turnip from the farmers fields.....while the union delegates made the decisions for the so called comrades behind closed doors ....and god help the poor buggers who didnt put there hands up for the pre organised result.....R683532
